ACTC Consumer Information and Student Right-to-Know: Home

Information distributed at the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester.

ACTC uses four primary sources to share important information: The KCTCS Catalog, KCTCS email, text messaging, and our ACTC website. Information such as grading, refund policies, academic calendars, the student code of conduct, student rights, and responsibilities – just to mention a few – are explained throughout these documents.  Please take some time and review the sources linked below; you will be held accountable to some of the information presented. Please remember, your experience is important to us! If you have a concern, feel free to share with any employee. They will do their best to resolve your concern or connect you with someone who can.

FERPA: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as amended, is a federal law that protects the privacy and confidentiality of personally identifiable information contained within student education records. For information on privacy, the release of student records, procedures for reviewing educational records and requesting amendment of records, and to view ACTC’s policy regarding disclosures to school officials with a legitimate educational interest in the educational records.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

ACTC is a tobacco-free campus. No tobacco usage or vaping on any campus, unless in your vehicle. This is not high school, please do not smoke in the bathrooms.

The U.S Department of Education requires colleges to implement a drug prevention and awareness program for their students and employees. All drug and alcohol abuse policies, prevention and referrals can be obtained by accessing the link.

ACTC Drug-Free Policy

ACTC does not have a campus-wide vaccination policy.  Specific programs such as Nursing may maintain vaccination requirements for their students.

Federal Law requires ACTC to publish yearly crime reports and crime logs and make them available to students and the community. Students, please stay alert and tune into your surroundings.

Information about a judicial hearing will be made available to the alleged victim by the campus Title IX Coordinator. 

It is the policy of ACTC to maintain an environment for students that is free of discrimination, sexual harassment, and all forms of sexual intimidation and exploitation.

Academic Calendars

Academic Programs: ACTC provides education and training that prepares you to succeed in a constantly changing world.

ACTC Disability Services: ACTC is committed to making reasonable accommodations for our students who have disabilities, as outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Student Achievement Disclosure Information: Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) is obligated to publish information about its goals and outcomes for student achievement.

Accreditation assures that the college meets standards of quality and excellence set by a government approved independent organization.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Financial Aid Programs:  Information about financial aid, federal work study, federal and state grants, student loans, loan counseling and more.

Return of Title IV Funds:  When a student withdraws from classes the college must determine the amount of the financial aid funds the student earned. Unearned funds must be returned to the Title IV Programs

Cost of Attendance:  Net calculator assists in determining the total cost of attendance at ACTC.

Textbooks are generally NOT available from ACTC Library. Information on textbooks is available from our campus bookstore and online.

We want to make the information you need easy to find. You can see most of this in the in the KCTCS catalog, but some of the more important things are listed here.
