Ashland Aesthetics Project

Ashland Riverfront by Scott Davis, PTK Chapter President

The statues at the Riverfront Park in Ashland KY were crafted by artist Gines Serran-Pagan. They represent many aspects of the Ashland culture. The statues names, Venus, representing Ashland’s beauty, Vulcan, representing the hard-working residents, and Genesis, with it’s five rods in the center, representing the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water and the fifth rod representing God.

Venus, Vulcan’s wife, offers an ash tree in her hand. This is representational of the love for its wonderful people.

Vulcan forges the five rods that represent the history of metals and the city’s strength.

Genesis also holds a representation of rebirth in its circular motion style. A type of strong energy into the future.

The Ashland Riverfront is open daily for visitors – I encourage you to check out this area and spend time with a world-class artistic installation!
